My Story
Driven by a deep passion for Dari literature, General Sadat also earned a degree in literature from Kabul University, graduating in 1989. In 2003, following the rebuilding of the Afghan National Army by NATO and the United States, he was appointed General Director of International Military Cooperation (Protocol) at the Ministry of Defense’s International Relations Department. In 2004, based on a recommendation from the Ministry of Defense and with presidential approval, he was promoted from Colonel to Brigadier General. Over his distinguished 40-year career, Brigadier General Sadat was honoured three times, receiving a Medal of Excellent Service and two extraordinary promotions. He officially retired in 2018. General Sadat has participated in numerous military and civilian seminars both domestically and internationally. His official and friendly visits have taken him to many countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, India, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Czechoslovakia, the United Arab Emirates, China, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and other Central Asian nations. During his service, he authored a book titled "Travel Guidelines for Afghan National Army Officers," which was published by the military press in 2014. In 2018, due to security threats from extremist groups, General Sadat sought asylum in the United Kingdom, entering legally on a visa. He is married and has five children.
